An urn turned from Texas Mesquite. This piece of Mesquite has beautiful yellow sapwood and voids filled with mineral inlay that includes turquoise. Bead-like features on the lid and around the base that are created by cutting into the wood, then burning lines, inking and painting. A large turquoise stone is the focus of the lid. Capacity of the urn is 215 cubic inches which is generally adequate for an adult. The lid is not threaded on but can be secured with adhesive if desired. If you allow a funeral home to insert the ashes they will usually place them in a plastic liner that is sealed.
