This is a vessel handmade on a lathe from Mesquite. The shape is reminiscent of an African lidded basket. The embellishment is cut and burned into the wood then inked and painted with a pattern that is also African influenced. Mineral inlay fills a void on the exterior and there are turquoise stones on the top and inside of the lid. This is a beautiful piece meant for prominent display. 10 inches tall and 8 inches wide.
